Introduction

1.1 Overview

FOM-E3/ETH and FOM-T3/ETH are fiber optic modems for transmission of

10BaseT or 100BaseT signals over E3/T3 services via multimode or single mode

fiber optic media.

• AC power supply: 100 to 240 VAC

Application

Figure 1-1

shows FOM-E3/ETH and FOM-T3/ETH extending 10/BaseT traffic over a

fiber optic link. The FOM-E3 or FOM-T3 modem provides E3/T3 electrical access to

SDH/SONET. The RIC-E3/ETH or RIC-T3/ETH device converts the E3/T3 signal back

to the 10/100BaseT traffic at the central office or POP.
